The Shiga Kogen Plateau is one of the greatest treasure troves of alpine flora in Honshu. In particular, Nikko kisuge (daylily) and willow orchids attract many tourists as beautiful flowers that represent Shiga Kogen in summer.

Best Season

The best time to see the daylilies is early to mid-July, and the best time to see the willowherb is early to mid-August. The early morning hours are the most beautiful and recommended for photography.

Accessible from all areas of Shiga Highlands. Ichinose Diamond Dust Park is a short walk from the Nagano Electric Railway Bus stop "Ichinose".
