Restriction of traffic on Shiga-Kusatsu Road (Route 292)

The Shiga-Kusatsu Road (National Route 292) has implemented traffic restrictions on a portion of its route due to the volcanic alert level for Mount Kusatsu-Shirane being raised to Level 2. Specifically, the section between the Sesshōgawara Parking Lot and the Manza Three-Way Intersection, approximately 8.5 kilometers, is closed to traffic.

When heading toward Manza Onsen, you will need to take a detour via the Manza Highway or Shiga Highlands.

Access to Snow Monkey Town from the Nagano City area is not directly affected by this road closure .

However, if you plan to travel from Snow Monkey Town toward Kusatsu Onsen, please be sure to allow ample time for your journey.
